Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced I & E Superintendent to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of instrumentation and electrical systems within industrial projects or facilities. This role ensures that installation, maintenance, and repair activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with relevant regulations and standards. In dynamic and challenging work environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Leadership: Lead, supervise, and coordinate a team of electricians, instrument technicians, and other support staff. Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations. Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of instrumentation and electrical projects. Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Design and Implementation: Review and interpret technical specifications, SAFE Charts and schematics. Ensure the correct implementation of designs for electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce safety protocols.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and inspect work performed by the team to ensure adherence to quality standards and proper functioning of electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Address and resolve complex electrical and instrumentation issues. Provide technical support and expertise to troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
- Resource Management: Manage resources, including tools, equipment, and materials. Ensure that inventory levels are maintained and that resources are used efficiently.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and review reports on project progress, safety incidents, and performance metrics. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Coordination and Communication: Liaise with other departments, project managers, and external contractors to ensure smooth project execution and resolve any issues that arise.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical systems preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in this role. Offshore experience preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Strong knowledge of electrical or instrumentation systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting P&ID’s, SAFE Charts, Cause and Effect, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Working Conditions:
- Schedule: As Required.
- Work in various weather conditions, including exposure to high winds, heavy machinery noise, and confined spaces.
- Physically demanding tasks may be required, including lifting, climbing, and working at heights.
